Restrictions & Rules
House Rules
Qualified Vendors Only
All caterers and event vendors working in City Hall must be on the venue's list of qualified vendors.
Music Limits
Musicians must come from the approved list; One-hour Wedding clients may use only acoustic musicians with no amplified music or singing.
Planner Required
An event planner who is not a family member, friend, or guest is required for all evening weddings.
Sheriff Security
San Francisco Sheriffs manage all security and every guest must pass through a metal detector and bag inspection.
Alcohol License
Alcohol may only be served with a liquor license through one of the venue's qualified vendors.
Fire Safety
Freestanding chuppahs are not permitted for One-hour Weddings, and open flame requires a fire permit and Fire Marshall.
No Storage
City Hall cannot accept advance shipments or store items; everything must load in and out during the contracted period.
No On-Site Parking
No parking is available on the premises and there is no loading dock, only a limited white zone on Van Ness Avenue.
