Cookie Disclosure
A short, plain-English list of what we store in your browser and what each item does. If we can avoid setting a cookie, we do.
This page describes the cookies and similar storage technologies (such as localStorage) used on viewtheregistry.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off. We use them to keep the site secure and to remember basic state during your session.
- admin_session. Set only for administrators after logging into the admin area. Signed, HTTP-only, expires after 7 days. Not set for ordinary visitors.
- Session and CSRF tokens. Short-lived cookies set by our hosting and database providers (Vercel, Supabase) to maintain a secure session and prevent cross-site request forgery.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, does not build a profile of you across other websites, and does not sell or share data with third parties. Page-view data is aggregated and anonymized at collection.
Because Plausible does not use cookies or other persistent identifiers, you do not need to consent to analytics tracking and there is no banner. See Plausible’s data policy for the full technical detail.
What we do not use
- Third-party advertising cookies. The Registry does not sell ads and does not load ad-network pixels.
- Cross-site tracking cookies. We do not embed pixels from social networks, marketing platforms, or data brokers.
- Fingerprinting techniques designed to identify you across sessions without your awareness.
How to opt out
You can clear and block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site (notably the admin area). Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on what you can see or submit.
Most browsers also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out of any data sale or sharing, even though we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the first place.
Changes
When we add, remove, or change the cookies we use, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top.
